Five Critical Life Skills for Adolescents and Young Adults: Connections CA Event
What does being independent mean? What does it look like? How can we help our children prepare for the organizational demands and social expectations of tweens, teens, and young adults?
Social, emotional, and behavioral skills are often thought to develop naturally as our children interact with their peers, from side-by-side preschool play to high school social events. Yet many of our children with social-emotional learning and organizational thinking differences struggle significantly with such critical life skills as taking active responsibility for their own personal hygiene, sleep, leisure, and study schedules. It’s hard for them to complete tasks, manage anxiety and emotions, and engage in face-to-face communication.
Please join Michelle Garcia Winner, globally recognized thought leader, as she explores 5 social-emotional and organizational learning areas that can and should be directly addressed in our homes, schools, and therapy offices.
