Neurodivergent Skills for Special Needs Families Skills the Entire Family Can Use

Dialectical Behavior Therapy was originally developed to work with Borderline Personality Disorder. The
great thing is that it is such a flexible therapy that with limited modifications, it was found that the skills
acquired were really helpful for people with ADHD, Autism, Addictive Disorders, Anxiety, Depression and
countless other mental health challenges. While this series is specifically designed for parental
caregivers, we will look at some practical skills for the entire family.

Week Four: Emotional Regulation: This week, we will look at skills to help us to understand, manage and
respond to emotions when circumstances feel unbalanced because of circumstances we are unfamiliar
or uncomfortable with.

The group is facilitated by Laura Beth DeHority, LMFT, parent to special needs young adults, and former corporate communicator.
