SOS, Saving our Sanity

Join us & meet others who share your journey as a parent of a child with special needs.

As you are moving into a new year, it won’t be surprising if you are experiencing mixed feelings of hope that things are moving in the right direction and dread that they are not. While there’s nothing that we can do in this group to change world events or even hard circumstances, we look to utilize the power of social connectedness to help caregiving parents of kids and adults with special needs to have new tools to balance the emotional rollercoaster of hard and ever-changing circumstances and to help them to build their own sturdy platform to withstand the storms.

Week Eight: Putting It All Together:  The Healthy Mind Platter.

The Healthy Mind Platter is an important tool for this series and it has recently celebrated its second year of being here on Wednesday nights.  In this conclusion of this series, we will pull out the platter and look at what activities build a healthy mind-brain-relationship triad in our lives according to how we are wired.  If you are new to the group, this is also a good time to join us as this session will be the bridge into our next 8-week series which will focus on practical tools for maintaining positive relationships with those in our care.

The group is facilitated by Laura Beth DeHority, LMFT, parent to special needs young adults, and former corporate communicator. Her goal is to establish practical skills to lower parental stress in a time period unlike any other.

Most PHP webinars, support groups, and services are FREE! We are committed to providing innovative, high-quality online content to families like yours.
