Danielle “Dani” Hughes,
M.S.< BCBA, LBA
Danielle Hughes is a practicing Board Certified Behavior Analyst in Portland, Oregon. She received her Master of Science degree from Portland State University in 2021. Danielle has been a practicing BCBA for the past year and has worked in Special Education since 2014.
Danielle recently opened her own private practice, Lifelong Learning, which serves individuals with an autism spectrum diagnosis. Her company works with individuals with moderate to severe challenging behavior, which often limits them from accessing more of their community. Lifelong Learning addresses challenging behavior and builds the necessary skills for the child/client to be able to access more of the world around them with as much independence as possible.
Her experience prior to opening her own practice has been in both the school and clinical environments. During Danielle’s clinical experience, she worked as a BCBA in an intensive behavior unit with learners aging from 8-17. This experience highlighted the importance of quality services needed to work alongside individuals with more complex needs. Danielle has worked in schools as a Paraeducator and a Lead Teacher, both experiences have had lasting effects on her current practice. Understanding what is feasible with staffing ratios, the importance of independent communication in a group setting, and essential safety skills. These are only a few of the things that have informed Danielle’s current practice as a BCBA.
Lifelong Learning specializes in teaching applied skills (e.g., hygiene, toileting, applied academics, leisure), addressing communication barriers, and serving individuals with moderate to severe challenging behavior. Our mission is to help the people we serve build skills and relationships within their home environment. Lifelong Learning is currently supporting the autism community in Oregon.
