The Gary Shupin Independent Living Community extends JFCS’ Disabilities Services to include residential independent living, skills development, a community of peers, and a social club. Our welcoming community offers affordable urban living coupled with comprehensive, personalized support so that young adults with developmental disabilities can live independently and enjoy the amenities of the San Francisco Bay Area. The Gary Shupin Independent Living Community has two properties for adults with disabilities at different stages of independence. Gary’s Place and Shupin House are located in one of San Francisco’s most vibrant, beautiful neighborhood known as Laurel Heights.
